Do I need any prior qualifications?

You will need to have completed, or be enrolled on our Introduction to Phlebotomy course (as long as the Introduction course takes place first). Alternatively, if you have previous phlebotomy practical experience at a Level 3 or above, you can skip straight to the Advanced session.

Question 3

Will I be qualified to draw live blood after the course?

Accepted Answer

Yes, as long as it is in line with your company's protocols and procedures. This course also covers drawing blood from neonatal, child and geriatric patients. You will gain a Level 4 nationally recognised qualification, accredited by the Open College Network and CPD Certification Service.

Can I take the course online?

Accepted Answer

Yes — the Virtual Classroom option includes a FREE Practise@Home Phlebotomy Training Kit (worth £79.95) so you can complete practical training from anywhere. You will need a device with a camera and a microphone to complete it via a Zoom session with a tutor.

How long is the course?

There will be 6-8 hours worth of theory to complete online, in your own time, and a day of practical training in person from 16:30-18:30.

Question 6

Can I apply to work in the NHS after this course?

Accepted Answer

Yes - the NHS offer a Trainee Phlebotomist role (Pay Band 2) that would help you to gain further experience in the field.

Question 7

Do you offer payment plans?

Accepted Answer

Yes — you can secure your place with a deposit and pay the balance in instalments. The full amount must be paid at least 5 working days before the course date. We also offer Klarna when booking online.

Question 8

When will I receive my certificate?

Accepted Answer

Digital certificates are issued within 7–14 working days after the course on your learning platform. Printed copies are available for an additional fee.
