Plymouth Energy Community’s team plus an expert industry panel share the learning from their recent design competition to create affordable homes that can deliver on Net Zero.
The brief was simple – create a scheme of 70 community led affordable new homes for rental using the innovative Energiesprong model to deliver low carbon benefits to residents and the landlord.
Plymouth Energy Community took an innovative approach to procurement of the scheme, running a 12 week long collaborative design competition, with three bidding teams.
The panel will be joined by representatives of each of the design teams to outline their varied approaches to the brief, and their experience of the collaborative procurement process.
PEC are collaborating with Plymouth City Council to test this innovative approach to the business model for affordable net zero homes.
