Event description

Description

Since 1895, British artists and architects have exhibited inspiring and thoughtful work at La Biennale di Venezia. With around 500,000 international visitors every year, it is one of the longest-running and most influential art festivals in the world, renowned for establishing global trends in culture and giving pioneering exhibitors a platform to launch their careers.

During the most recent Biennale, the British Council presented ISLAND by architects Caruso St John and artist Marcus Taylor. The British Council invited 70 fellows to spend a month in Venice to undertake research, and this exhibition - in collaboration with the British Council and University of Liverpool - is their response to Venice and ISLAND.

Join us for our exhibition launch, where RIBA President Ben Derbyshire will chair a discussion with architect Peter St John, artist Marcus Taylor and the fellows on the role of activities like La Biennale di Venezia on architectural practice.

You are welcome to bring a guest. Please register your place by Monday 18 March 2019 and provide the name of your guest.
