About this Event

Who is this course for?

This course is open to council's who have signed the Local Digital Declaration. If you're not sure if your council is a signatory, you can view the list of them on Local Digital website. You can book spaces on this course directly through this page.

This course aims to equip teams to work well together and deliver good project outputs. It’s designed for groups of people from the same team attending together, and as such isn’t open to individuals. It’s best suited to cohorts of between 10 and 15 people and is to be hosted on site at a location which suits the team best, with the trainer travelling to you.

Course summary

By the end of the course you will be able to:

  • explain the origins of agile including the values and principles
  • recognise agile ways of working in other areas
  • demonstrate how to apply agile methodologies within their own team

  • User stories
  • Agile estimating and planning
  • Backlog refinement
  • Kanban
  • Project simulation

DurationThe course takes 3 working days. It usually runs from 9:30am to 4pm.

Dates and locations

These courses will be self-hosted, please provide the suitable details when reserving your space and make sure that the room is in accordance with GDS' room requirements.

Duration

This is a three day course, so please reserve your slot only if there will be a group of 10-15 attendees for all three days.

Why is this course being offered free of charge?

We are making effort to make as many of our courses accessible to all of our declaration signatories, so that local authorities can make best use of the training on offer. Each signatory has the opportunity to host one Agile For Teams Course for free

Next Steps

If you successfully reserve a space, please return to this page to make sure we have the following information (at the very latest) 12 working days prior to the training,

  • Correct address for where you wish to host the training, with a suitable room booked for all three days
  • List with attached email addresses for at least 10-15 attendees (you can make amendments to the list beyond this if you email us directly, this is more of a place holder to make sure there will be enough attendees)

If we do not have this information by this point, we will be need to automatically cancel the booking.

If tickets sales have already ended but you are interested in self-hosting an agile for teams in the future, please contact us and we will add you to the waiting list for future courses.

Please feel free to contact skills@localdigital.gov.uk if you have any questions in the meantime.
