Launch event of the new online Agnoscis Journal, in association with Morphē Arts

You are warmly invited to join us on 10 June, 7-9pm at Ahaba Cafe (Bow, London) for the launch of the new online <a href="https://agnoscisjournal.org" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Agnoscis Journal</a><a href="https://agnoscisjournal.org" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"></a>, produced by <a href="https://sarahwhite.org.uk" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Sarah White</a>, in association with <a href="https://www.morphearts.org" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Morphē Arts</a>. The launch will feature music by <a href="https://tobydaintree.weebly.com" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Toby Daintree,</a> and readings and discussion from the journal writers. This event will also coincide with the opening of a new painting exhibition Negotiating Distance, featuring work by <a href="https://karolinaalbricht.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Karolina Albrich</a>t, <a href="http://philipelbourne.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Phil Elbourne</a>, <a href="https://michaelcoppelov.hotglue.me/home" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Michael Coppelov</a> and <a href="http://www.anthony-banks.com" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Anthony Banks</a>, curated by Phil Elbourne<a href="https://www.agnoscisjournal.org" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">www.agnoscisjournal.org</a>This journal, two years in development, is an artist-led project which publishes practice-led writing across art-making, art theory, philosophy, and Christian faith and theology. Tickets for the launch are by donation, and all money raised will go towards the development of the second edition of the journal. The Epochal Event of the Stone by Wilf Merttens</a>; <a href="https://agnoscisjournal.org/deargod/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Dear God: A Performative Writing Piece on Endurance and Prayer by Lauren Burnett</a>; <a href="https://agnoscisjournal.org/negativeapotheosis/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Negative Apotheosis: Georges Bataille and the Semiotics of Sacrifice in Performance Art by Nathalia Bell</a>; <a href="https://agnoscisjournal.org/entropicgrey/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Endings Origins and the Entropic Grey by Jarryd Lowe</a>; and an editorial <a href="https://agnoscisjournal.org/editorial1/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">The Word Which Makes Flesh by Sarah White</a>.Agnoscis Journal has come from the friendship, practice, faith, discussion and disagreement of artists associated with Morphē Arts. The journal is an engagement with contemporary art theory and practice, and the philosophical and sociological foundations upon which they are built: but with a particular attention to unmasking the latent theology within this arena.The journal is published within the context of Morphē Arts, but the writing does not necessarily reflect the position of this organisation. Rather, it exists as a platform for the research, thinking and exploration of the writers and artists involved, and for the conversations and disagreements which arise between them.
