Alchemy welcomes audiences with young children to book a slot at our free crèche, available for a morning and/or afternoon slot.
Alchemy Film & Arts is pleased to offer festival audiences and guests with young children access to the Alchemy Crèche, free of charge.
The Alchemy Crèche will be based on Floor 2 in Heart of Hawick, accessible by lift or stairs. It is bookable 10am - 1.30pm and/or 2.30pm - 6pm Friday 1 May, Saturday 2 May and Sunday 3 May.
We are excited to introduce our Crèche lead Leigh Grieve, who is a registered childminder. Leigh will be coordinating the crèche and its volunteers. Leigh's Care Inspectorate details can be read here.
We ask that parents and guardians provide their own nappies, wipes, changes of clothes, special cups, formula or breast milk, and any snacks, drinks or medication. The minimum age of entry is 9 months.
Spaces are extremely limited, so if you no longer require use of the Crèche we kindly ask that you cancel your slot. If you have any questions we will be happy to help. You can reach us at milo@alchemyfilmandarts.org.uk or by phone on 01450 367 352.

Why Crèche?
Childcare is political. Without it, low income, working class people and precarious workers are excluded from all sorts of activities, including work, but also leisure pursuits, cultural engagements and political involvement. That’s why Alchemy Film & Arts are providing a crèche, so parents and carers can attend our Festival screenings and know their children will be safely looked after.
With thanks to Conway and Young for their step-by-step guide, Crèche (of) Course, on how to set up a crèche for creative events.
