Come join us for the launch of Aldershot Mixtape, a self-guided musical audio trail and exhibition at the West End Centre on 13th September 2025.

Aldershot Mixtape takes you on a sonic journey around Aldershot town, highlighting the town’s rich and diverse musical history. The trail leads you from the indie vibes of the legendary Buzz Club to songs from Himalayan landscapes and the lively early days of rave music. You will hear a blend of instruments, field recordings, and voice, as well as distant chants from Aldershot Football Club. By combining music, sound design, and interviews, Aldershot Mixtape offers a uniquely immersive experience of the town's distinctive history.

To launch the Aldershot Mixtape project, we will be hosting guided walks with team members and participating artists on Saturday, 13th September. The walk begins at the West End Centre and lasts approximately 90 minutes. Each audio track varies in length from 6 to 9 minutes, with a short journey between locations.

The first walk takes place from 12:00 to 13:30.
The second walk takes place from 15.00 to 16.30

Please sign up for one of the free guided walks and remember to bring headphones. Aldershot mixtape is free to listen to on a smartphone by downloading Aldershot Heritage Trails (AT Creative Limited) from the App Store or Google Play. Aldershot Mixtape will be available to download from Friday, 12th September.

Accessibility: We’ve made every effort to ensure the trail is as accessible as possible. However, due to the historical nature of some points of interest, full accessibility hasn’t always been achievable.

Aldershot Mixtape Exhibition | dates 01/09/25 to 19/09/25

The exhibition marks the beginning of a series of storytelling and zine workshops, taking place in collaboration with the University for the Creative Arts at the West End Centre, starting in October.

The launch includes a reworking of artist and photographer Gareth McConnell’s rave-inspired photographic works, Close your Eyes. Plus video projections and images by Simon Aeppli, Jo Bartlett, Hattie Croucher, Jamie Dobson, Karina Fraser, Phil Osborne and Tara Manandhar.

Aldershot Mixtape is a collaboration between the University for the Creative Arts, Rushmoor Borough Council, Forward 4 Wiz Trust and West End Centre.
