The Festival of Algorithmic and Mechanical Movement

AlgoMech

A hands-on, beginners' workshop where you can get started with making music and visuals with text.. You'll be introduced to a variety of "live coding" environments, geared towards combining simple elements into complex results. Most of the workshop will be hands-on with the free/open source <A HREF="http://tidalcycles.org" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">TidalCycles</A> environment. No experience in programming or performance necessary! Just bring a laptop (or let us know in advance if you need to borrow one). The workshop will be lead by algoravers including Lucy Cheesman and Alex McLean. 
Part of <A HREF="http://algomech.com/2016/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">AlgoMech</A> festival, which also includes an <A HREF="http://algomech.com/2016/#event1" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Algorave at Millennium Gallery</A>.
