The Centre for the Study of Social and Global Justice (CSSGJ) is delighted to welcome Ian Bruff for a critical talk titled “All that has Never Been True: The Dismal Ruins of the Neoliberalism = Free Markets Assumption.”

This lecture interrogates one of the most enduring myths of contemporary politics: that neoliberalism equals free markets. Bruff challenges this assumption, uncovering how neoliberalism has always relied on state power, coercion, and structural inequalities. By exposing the ruins of this myth, the talk opens up space for rethinking neoliberalism’s legacy and its ongoing impact on global politics and economics.

Join us for a sharp and engaging discussion on neoliberalism, ideology, and the politics of power.
