<H3>Party Like Its 1799!    And celebrate our local hero, Allan Ramsay (1684-1758).  Poet; bookseller and collector of Scots music and verse.  Father of the Scots language and author of The Gentle Shepherd, Scotland's first opera which was set in the countryside around Carlops.</H3>
Traditional Scottish ceilidh featuring the dances and music of Allan Ramsay whose tunes were the roots of folk music today.  Learn some not seen before ceilidh dances of the time.   Buffet Supper included.   Bar.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Free parking in public carpark opposite the hall and at the Allan Ramsay Hotel.   Local bus service is the 101 Edinburgh to Dumfries.
