Nottingham theatre scratch night/gig theatre open mic returns for 2026!

Allsorts is Nottingham’s regular gig-theatre scratch night at Fisher Gate Point, and we welcome anyone who wants to build new artistic collaborations, test out their latest work with a supportive audience, or just enjoy a great night out. Please note - you must be over 18 to participate!Allsorts is like a traditional ‘open-mic’, but with a focus on collaboration and building new connections. You can bring any kind of performance art – music, poetry, theatre, live art, improv, clowning, short films, or whatever else you want to share – or you can attend simply as an audience member. We encourage you to bring early drafts, works-in-progress, and weird experiments!You can also sign up to ‘Jam’. Arrive early and find us in the cafe. Here, you can chat to other artists who want to Jam, and you can devise something new, to perform in the second half. (There will also be time during the interval to sign up for this.)Whatever you choose to perform, we encourage you to arrive before the show starts, and engage with the other creatives in the room If you’re a writer and don’t want to read out your work, link up with some actors before the show! Allsorts organisers Laurie and Chris will get people chatting, and this is a perfect opportunity to find someone to Jam with, if that’s of interest to you.7:30pm - Access to the space - This is a short period of time to check that the space (and your tech) works as you expect it to!8:00pm - Show starts - Submissions Section – This section is for people who have brought a piece of work to show. Chris will introduce each act before they perform.9:00pm - Interval – Opportunity for last-minute second half signups9:15pm - Second half starts - Jam Section – This is an opportunity to showsomething you have come up with on the day.10:00pm - Show ends But stick around for a drink! <h3>How do I submit my act?</h3>Is my artform welcome at Allsorts?We aim to be open to all forms of art, so hopefully yes! The performance space is small, with a limited tech setup, so do contact us if you’re uncertain as to whether we’d be able to accommodate you.How long are performance slots?Each performer will have a performance timeslot up to 8 minutes. If you sign up in advance, please let us know roughly how much time you might need.What technical support is available?Sound:<ul><li>Sound desk with Bluetooth receiver and aux cable (can play music from a laptop or phone with Bluetooth capabilities).</li><li>Two microphones with stands.</li><li>Two amps.</li></ul>Light:<ul><li>A projector that can plug into a laptop.</li></ul>There is no lighting control, and no backstage. Please let us know if you need someone to help you with tech while you are performing. <h3>How do I sign up?</h3>You can sign up for free, or, make a suggested donation of £4. Please buy a ticket if you can, as it enables us to pay for the room hire sustainably and keep the night going.Any questions?
