Alternative pride is a authentic and inclusive queer event that aims to show off our city's wide variety of queer talent. OVER 18s  EVENT

<p>As the creators of alternative pride, we began to become frustrated with the consumerism elements of Brighton&#x27;s usual pride festival. We loved that people were coming out to have fun and dance and relax, but felt like it had become disconnected from the still, very real struggle of being queer in today&#x27;s society.  We want to celebrate but also reflect, heal and grow - and I think that is the core principals of our event as a whole. We want to queer people who are attending alternative pride not just to have a space to relax and party, but also to feel seen and understood and reassured that their existence and voice matters. We are so lucky to have such a talented range of performers, who are all queer themselves, from poetry to drag acts,  we are sure that there will have something for everyone. We are hugely excited for the event, and think it will be a beginning of something really beautiful for our community. OVER 18s  EVENT</p>
