About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours 30 minutes

Supporting wellbeing at work isn’t always easy - especially when conversations feel uncertain or emotionally charged. This interactive Forum Theatre Workshop is designed to help delegates develop the confidence and skills to navigate those moments with empathy and clarity.

Using live, interactive scenarios based on real workplace situations, we’ll explore the challenges and opportunities of having meaningful wellbeing conversations with your team.

What to expect:

  • Live forum theatre: Watch actors perform realistic workplace scenarios, interview the characters and re-direct the scenario to co-create a better approach. We do not ask delegates to role-play.
  • We will introduce you to our ECA framework which will help you open up dialogue without fear of “saying the wrong thing.”
  • Peer learning: Share insights with fellow CIPD members, gain new perspectives, and explore how culture and context influence these conversations.
  • Practical takeaways you can use immediately.

About the speaker

Gill Brabner set up Resound Training and Development Ltd in 2004 and quickly established a strong track record of delivering high impact, immersive learning using forum theatre. Gill is a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD and gained her MSc in Digital Education from the University of Edinburgh in 2020. Since 2014 Gill and her team of actors have been creating videos depicting real-life work stories for training programmes, and as stand-alone digital content that clients use to support their management development. Resound’s video library is freely available via our YouTube channel.

Recent work includes our “Oh! It was just banter…!” workshops designed to support managers address inappropriate behaviours (including sexual harassment), and workshops focused on managing conflict in times of uncertainty.

Testimonials

“A week later and I’m still running things through my head. The actors were just amazing. I’m still kind of irritated at “Bob” lol. Yesterday I was wondering how “Sam” was getting on at work. The experience truly changes how we think. You’re doing great service, and you (and everyone at Resound Training) should be very proud of the work you are doing!” Red Hilton Publisher/CEO Belmont City Press LLC

“We started working with the Resound Team a few years ago when we wanted a different approach for a Patient Experience summit, for communicating the value of collaborative working between healthcare providers and stakeholders.

We provided a script, the actors delivered a forum theatre session, and the rest was history. Many positive reviews later, we concluded that would definitely not be the last time we worked with the RESOUND team.” Bumi Akinmutande, Central Complaints Manager, Barts Health NHS Trust

“It was really important for me that these scenarios felt real and that we moved away from traditional slide decks for this type of training especially given the volume of people dialing in. The feedback has been fantastic, and we look forward to working with you again in the future.” Katy Thorpe, Global People Director, Kinly

“I asked for recommendations, and discovered Resound Training & Development. They are simply the best I’ve ever worked with! Their modern, outside-the-box approach has made such a difference.” Beata Szarka A2Dominion
