An Estuary Reading Group

An informal reading group based around Nicola Barker's Thames Gateway Trilogy.

Join us for a relaxed Sunday evening reading group that will explore Nicola Barker&#x27;s Thames Gateway Trilogy.We will begin with Wide Open, set on the Isle of Sheppey, followed by Behindlings, which takes places on Canvey Island, and end with Darkmans, based in Ashford.This reading group emerged out of a conversation between Caroline Milnar and Declan Wiffen while wandering along the Saxon Shore Way discussing creative texts that responded to the Estuary. We decided a shared reading experience of Barker&#x27;s novels would be an exciting and different place to begin thinking collectively about this environment.30th May—Wide Open,27th June—Behindlings,1st August—Darkmans,The sessions will take place online via Zoom between 6pm-8pm. A Zoom link will be sent closer to the date with further information.
