About this Event
Oxford Brookes University BAME Staff Network invites you to an evening with Dr Leroy Logan MBE, who overcame a hostile and racist environment, to become one of the UK’s most outstanding police officers.
Dr Leroy Logan MBE rose to the rank of superintendent in the Metropolitan Police and was both a founding member of the Black Police Association and its chair for 30 years. His recent autobiography ‘Closing Ranks - My Life as a Cop’, came to life in the BBC drama series Small Axe, in the episode, Red, White and Blue, directed by Steve McQueen. Leroy was dynamically portrayed by actor John Boyega.
As part of Race Equality Week, find out about Leroy Logan’s calling to serve in the police, his resilience and his thoughts on how best to police our communities now and in the future.
