About this event

Please join us for an evening of dance with The Larondina Company on Wednesday 17th September at The Bowerchalke Barn on Knowle Farm, 6-8pm, to fundraise for Horatio's Garden South-West.

Enjoy a sociable evening of drinks and canapes combined with artisitic movement and dance.

The Larondina Dance Company is very special because they are all Down’s Syndrome dancers who have performed in many countries where Downs Syndrome is prevalent and misunderstood. They have appeared in the West End, at International Festivals, at Olympia and the Excel Centre as well as for Pope Benedict in Hyde Park and in Britain’s Got Talent and Got to Dance on Sky TV. We are so grateful to The Larondina Company for donating their time, experience and performance to Horatio's Garden. For more information visit their website at Larondina Dance Company. We are so excited for you to watch them perform!

In 2023 they were invited to Rome to dance for Ambassadors from all over the world as part of Down’s Syndrome Awareness Day after which they had an audience with the Pope.

The appeal of this company stems from a combination of ability and soul. What you see are unselfconscious dancers at their best and loving what they do.

Tickets cost £15 per person.

All proceeds from ticket purchases will go directly to support people affected by spinal injury at Horatio's Garden South-West at the Salisbury District Hospital.

We are so grateful to the team at Bowerchalke Barn for very kindly hosting the event.

We look forward to watching The Larondina Company and enjoying a lovely evening with you all.

Horatio’s Garden nurtures the wellbeing of people after spinal injury in beautiful, vibrant sanctuaries within the heart of NHS spinal injury centres. Leading designers create the accessible gardens where the charity’s team, alongside volunteers and creatives, care for people and plants alike.

Spinal cord injuries are traumatic events. The gardens are vital places for reflection and adjustment for people facing these life-changing injuries and long stays in hospital. The profoundly positive impact of a Horatio’s Garden is clear for patients, their loved ones and hospital staff. Research shows that 98% of beneficiaries see an improvement in their wellbeing with 88% reporting that the gardens have supported their mental and physical rehabilitation.

The charity’s vision is to sustainably grow thriving communities and biodiverse gardens in all 11 NHS spinal injury centres in the UK. To date we have opened six gardens in the Southwest, Scotland, Stoke Mandeville, Midlands, London & Southeast and Wales with our seventh garden under construction in Northern Ireland and our eighth planned to open in Sheffield in 2024.
