About this event

An evening with Maggie's at Mottisfont House & Gardens

Join us for a private evening, with wine and canapes, at the glorious Mottisfont House and Gardens managed by the National Trust. We have been given exclusive access to the famous Rose gardens and to the stunning exhibition inside the main house for one night only and all to raise funds for Maggie's in Southampton.

Find out more about the rose gardens.

In memory of Sir Eric Thomas, former Chair of the Fundraising Board at Maggie's Southampton

Living nearby, Sir Eric had a close connection to Mottisfont and the idea of hosting an evening here, exclusively for Maggie's donors - was his idea. He had been in touch with the team at Mottisfont who he knew well, to begin preparations but sadly Eric passed away before an event was confirmed. With his family's blessing, we have decided to see Eric's vision become a reality and look forward to what is going to be a very special evening.

Maggie’s provides free practical, emotional and social support to people with cancer and their family and friends, following the ideas about cancer care originally laid out by Maggie Keswick Jencks.

Built in the grounds of NHS cancer hospitals, Maggie's centres are places with professional staff on hand to offer the support people need.

Our centres are places to find practical advice about benefits and eating well; places where qualified experts provide emotional support; places to meet other people; places where you can simply sit quietly with a cup of tea.

The first Maggie’s opened in Edinburgh in 1996 and since then Maggie’s has continued to grow, with 26 centres at major NHS cancer hospitals in the UK and abroad.
