An exploration of the senses at night with MIND
Join Norfolk and Waveney Mind to explore your senses and observe our night sky at Caister-on-Sea.
Exploring your senses Under Dark Skies involves intentionally heightening your hearing, smell, touch and vision or lack of, to experience the beach differently.
This event will be a mindfulness walk of approximately 1km in total. We'll gather to look up at the night sky and keep our fingers crossed for a clear night to view the magical Quadrantid Meteor Shower. The shower is known for strong activity, with up to 120 meteors/hour.
You will form a deeper connection to the environment. Focusing on what's present beyond the usual visual distractions. Making the familiar feel new and magical.
Meet at Caister Independent Lifeboat (Visitor Centre entrance), Beach Road car park, Caister-on-Sea, Great Yarmouth NR30 5HD.
Bring warm layers and suitable footwear for beach/dunes, appropriate for weather conditions on the day.
A towel or exercise mat to sit on and flask if you have one.
--------
A note for people who may ask about accessibility:
The lifeboat ramp stops at the beach. That point is quite light polluted. If wheelchair users we booked that is likely as far as they could get, unless a wheelchair specifically designed for sand.
