The aim of the Adults with Incapacity training is to develop knowledge and confidence in understanding the Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act 2000 and how to apply this in practice.
Learning Outcomes:
- Recognise people supported by the AWI Act
- Describe the principles of the AWI Act
- Explain how the AWI Act promotes human rights
- Define incapacity as described in the AWI Act
- Describe supported decision making
- Describe the differences between supported and substitute decision making
- Define ‘deprivation of liberty’ and recognise when this is happeningVenue:

Wednesday 1st October; 8:30am - 12noon; St John's Hospital
Monday 13th October; 9:00am - 12:30pm; West Lothian Civic Centre
Monday 27th October; 1.30pm - 5pm; St John's Hospital
Wednesday 29th October; 1pm - 4.30pm; West Lothian Civic Centre
Refreshments will not be provided during the session. There are nearby facilities for you to purchase teas/coffees.
