From March 9th-24thjoin us for a sixteen day celebration of artists video, film, performance and sound asStrangelove Festivaltakes over, the streets and spaces of Folkestone.  With a packed programme of live events, screenings, exhibitions, workshops and talks Strangelove Festival brings together the diversity and talent of over 125 international, UK and local artists. Video works from artists that include,Mark Wallinger,Richard WilsonandTracey Emin.This new and unique festival merges live events, screenings and exhibitions atStrange Cargoand theSassoon Gallerywith some unexpected takeovers popping up throughout the programme.  Festival highlights include aSecret Strangeloveprogramme of encounters and performances, with artists includingLucky Bert,that will activate unusual spaces around Folkestone and a special free screening of Kubrick’sDr Strangeloveat the Silver Screen. A special project  by BAFTA nominated screenwriter and directorTony Grisoni,whose film credits include Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and the acclaimed TV serial Red Riding.The Quarterhouse hostsQueer Puppet’s Cabaretand the Premiere of Brighton based groupPartial Facsimile’snew workMedia OS 5.1where the audience will be immersed inside a surround sound total environment interacting with their mobile phones.In addition to the Folkestone based events in March we’ll be connecting with our coastal neighbours moving the festival down the coastline in projects hosted by our partners in Brighton and Eastbourne. More details and announcements to follow and can be found on our websitewww.strangelovefestival.com

Analogue Ensemble presents: Frame Shift
Analogue Ensemble was setup in 2015 by Joseph Dance and Cathy Rogers as a quarterly programme of experimental film, video and sound nights bringing together local artists/ filmmakers with those from across the UK and Europe to Ramsgate. Since early 2016 they have been taking their events to venues and festivals across Kent.
Frame Shift
The programme for the Strangelove Festival brings together four UK artists; Suky Best, Jamie Jenkinson, Alex Jukes and Jennifer Nightingale in an installation of film, video and moving sculptural works.  In each of these works there is an inquiry of the material nature of moving image.
