The album was recorded live exactly one year ago, 31st October 2021, in the Library of Avalon. This performance features enhanced and new spoken word / music collaborations and improvisations.The ritual at the heart of ANCESTOR SOULS is from The Halloween of Cross Bones. It was performed at Cross Bones Graveyard for a cycle of 13 Halloweens (1998-2020) and reprised 2015-16. To amplify the London-Glastonbury current opened by Dion Fortune and others, we'll be re-enacting this work of healing and transformation.The incantations, poems and songs are from John Constable's Glastonbury 'Grail' book and from 'The Southwark Mysteries', to music by Jenny Bliss and Will Kraemer.Reviews of 'The Southwark Mysteries':"Past and present, sacred and profane jostle and collide in a glorious tumult in this anarchic drama… John Constable’s work is couched in verse that is muscular, ribald and often dazzlingly rich."
