Back to Roots - a Diaspora Constellations Workshop

This Ancestral Constellations workshop focuses on Diaspora Transgenerational Lives of Colour. For many communities the journey to a new homeland came with loss, struggle and toil, but there was also joy, love and solace in family life. In this workshop, you will create a living ‘map’ of your family system, past and present and we will look at the ancestral line down the decades.

With the help of other group members, who act as ‘representatives' for family members, you can see how people stand, sit and move in relationshio with each other. The facilitator guides the process, so that the ‘generational map’ can be explored and any difficult issues brought to the surface.

During the workshop, we will look at our ancestral line and also notice where there is a community influence on the current family system. We will set up constellations as healing rituals and explore Diaspora themes in more depth, the maternal line, the paternal line, siblings taken here and left there. The role of grandparents and the extended family, the place of community in family life.

Workshop Tickets - Issue Holder or Representative

To those new to the ancestral constellation approach, there will be an opportunity to explore a deep healing process. For those of you who have worked with this method before, there is a chance to come again and support others in a gathering of like-minded people.

We will work with the issues that are presented on the day. You can choose to come as a Issue Holder (a guaranteed constellation) or come as a Representative and support the person who are having their personal constellation.

Either way we all become part of the process, working on each others and our own family system together. This is a process that helps to clarify your personal experience and supports you in becoming more conscious about what is happening within the wider ancestral system. Come and walk the constellations path with me! '

About Sonya and my Path to Ancestral Constellations

I attended my first family constellation workshop in 2011. I immediately felt calm and protected and I could see the African indigenous healing ritual in the constellation. This was the first step into transgenerational work and I began the process of healing some of the relationship dynamics in our ancestral family tree. As I leant more I began visiting the Caribbean and Africa to deepen my knowledge about ancestral family traditions.
