A look at the city of Rome, its plan, infrastructure and major buildings, with an emphasis on how surprisingly modern it was. With blocks of flats, shopping centres and major entertainment venues, Rome was millennia ahead of its time.


“Cruelties, Follies and Murder” – the crazy lives of the Roman Emperors

This quote by Edward Gibbon sums up the reigns of some of the most infamous emperors in Roman History. We will look at the lives of a selection of Roman rulers, from the good, to the bad to the completely insane.


It's all Greek to me!

A look at the cities of Athens and Sparta: How did they compare? Why was democracy invented? Why might you think twice about running a marathon? Was it better to be Spartan or Athenian?
