About this event

Arts • Fine Art

You're changing the world. But who's sustaining you?

You know that feeling when you've been fighting the good fight so long that you've forgotten what it feels like to just breathe? When the weight of injustice sits so heavily on your shoulders that you can't remember the last time you felt your mind and body relax? I used to feel that way, until I made self-care a discipline and a practice rather than a sticking plaster.

Why you need this (even if you think you don't have time):

Your activism is only as sustainable as you are. Every movement throughout history has been built by people who found ways to restore their energy levels. You can't pour from an empty cup - but more than that, you deserve to be nourished for who you are, not just what you do.

When did you last give yourself permission to exist without a to-do list? To make something beautiful just because? To spend time with others who understand the emotional labour of caring about justice in an unjust world?

This is NOT another networking event. This afternoon is NOT about productivity or strategy. This IS about remembering that you matter beyond your mission. We're going to potter, and we're going to play.

What awaits you:

  • Time out for yourself from the 'noise' of family life
  • Nature as medicine - accessible routes through woodland and lakeside settings (no bears, just fairies and dens in those woods!)
  • Connection with others who understand the unique challenges of this work
  • Practical tools for sustainable activism that won't burn you out from me, an experienced changemaker
  • Foraging for natural materials to make a temporary piece of art (if you want to be fancy, you could even call it a temporary art installation)

Who should come:

  • Changemakers working in advocacy, activism, or social change for the rights of women and other marginalised communities
  • Leaders feeling the weight of constant "on" mode
  • Anyone who's ever thought "I don't have time for self-care" (while desperately needing it)

Limited to 6 participants for intimate, meaningful connection.

You didn't become a changemaker to burn out. When you're resourced and restored, your work becomes more powerful, not less. Join us - and bring snacks!
