Andre Aciman talks to Brian Dillon about Aciman's latest essay collection, Homo Irrealis

Born into Alexandria’s Sephardic Jewish community and now resident in New York, André Aciman is best known for his novels, in particular <a href="https://londonreviewbookbox.co.uk/products/call-me-by-your-name-by-andre-aciman" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Call Me by Your Name</a>. His latest, <a href="https://londonreviewbookbox.co.uk/products/homo-irrealis-by-andr-aciman" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Homo Irrealis</a> (Faber and Faber) is a collection of essays on subjects as diverse as Freud, W.G.Sebald, the films of Eric Rohmer and the cityscapes of Alexandria and St Petersburg.
