Andrew Downes - RECORDING LAUNCH

Anna Downes enjoys a busy career as a freelance violinist, performing regularly with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, City of London Sinfonia and Welsh Chamber Orchestra (Principal 2nd Violin). As a pit orchestra musician, Anna makes regular appearances in theatres across the UK including the New Alexandra Theatre in Birmingham, Wolverhampton Grand Theatre and the Nottingham Playhouse. Anna performs as part of the Himley Duo with pianist Tony Bridgewater giving recitals in leading concert venues such as the Lion Ballroom in Leominster and Peterborough Cathedral.Anna is the founder and leader of professional chamber orchestra Central England Camerata which gives charity concerts of Popular Classics as well as accompanying choral societies in the Midlands area. In 2019 Anna set up the charity www.musicforsanctuary.org – a concert series which raises money for homeless people. In two years over £15000 has been raised for homeless charities
