Annotatathon to create digital language resources

During the event we will all work together to add sense annotation to a text corpus, thereby creating a resource that can grow the quality of natural language processing tools available for our languages.

The workshop will start with a very brief introduction to the process of annotation, but focus mostly on the task at hand – adding sense information from the African Wordnet to a corpus of general language text. Participants will work together in language groups to perform the annotation in Microsoft Excel.
