Overview

A guided traverse of Glen Coe's most iconic ridgeline, the Aonach Eagach (grade 2 scramble)

Professionally guided scrambles are the perfect opportunity to tick-off a route that you don't feel confident doing on your own! It's also a chance to seek advice from an expert and voice any questions you might have, so that you can your build mountain skills and grow your confidence on the move!

Aonach Eagach. This famous rocky ridge lies to the north of the A82 through Glen Coe. Boasting two Munro summits, the ridge is said to be narrowest on the UK mainland! The full ridge walk is only about 10km but can take all day on account of the grade-2 scrambling throughout its length. It is sublime ridge-traverse and an experience you’ll never forget - but it’s not one for the feint-hearted!

Let one of our experienced female guides (MCI qualified) take you on this fantastic journey, and keep you safe along the way - so that you can look up and enjoy the views!

If you're feeling fit, this is the perfect opportunity to complete a Swift Half round by extending your day to include the rest of the route (optional)!

*Minimum requirements for this day are both a good level of hill walking or running fitness and previous (grade 1 or above) scrambling experience before signing-up. Guide to client ratio 1:2. You will be required to wear a harness and helmet (provided).

**Please note that if the weather is deemed unsuitable for a traverse of the Aonach Eagach, we will climb the nearby classic Curved Ridge on Buachaille Etive Mor (grade 3) instead, as long as it is safe to do so. This is a shorter day which is easier to manage in wet or windy conditions. An alternative lower-level scramble or easier hill-walking day is also a possible alternative but a postponement or refund will not be available on account of the weather.
