Applying For Funding Masterclass Midlands

TheTaskforce’s role is to enable the delivery of the recommendations from theIndependent Library Report for Englandand to build upon, and add value to existing good practice, partnerships and other activities that are already supporting public libraries. It also promote libraries to national and local government and to potential funders, and create a strong and coherent narrative around the contribution public libraries make to society and to local communities.

Libraries Taskforce

Our Applying for Funding Masterclasses will follow the ACE-run funding events in January/February, and will focus on accessing non-ACE funding streams. 
Outcomes that will be achieved through attending are:
- Getting more library services / libraries applying for funding and/or seeking external investment, including by addressing barriers to making applications, considering how partner organisations and/or other parts of the council might support the process;
- Getting more bids to be successful when library services / libraries do apply;
- Raising awareness of funding / investment opportunities available;
- Building mentor / buddy networks to support; and
- Post-event, providing materials to be used to support library services / libraries in preparing bids.
Who are these Masterclasses aimed at?
- All members of the public library sector (including Community Managed Libraries); and
- Bidding Partners are very welcome, especially if likely to be doing joint bids with library services.  Please feel free to extend the invitation to any partners that you might wish to work with.

The Masterclass will take place at Lincoln Central Library on Wednesday 21 February. It will run from 10:30 to 16:30 (registration and tea and coffee from 10:00) and lunch / refreshments will be provided. Please let us know of any dietary requirements.
