Apps for AAC

Apps for AAC

Online event
Tuesday, Jun 9 from 2 pm to 4 pm GMT+1
Overview

This course will be an introduction to some of the most used AAC Apps currently available and consider paper based options.

This course will be an introduction to some of the most commonly used Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) Apps currently available for use with adults and children, and the vocab packages available on each of them. It maps across to IPAACKS Level Two (please see further information on CASEE Eventbrite profile).

We will discuss the pros and cons of apps available which may be useful for potential AAC users before referral to CASEE and with those who would not meet CASEE criteria. We will look at both text based apps and symbol based apps.

There will also be a chance to talk about our referral criteria so that therapists know which clients can be referred to the CASEE team and which need to be managed by local teams.

This course will be 2 hours long and delivered on Zoom, joining instructions will be sent to you prior to the course.

If there are any adjustments or support that we can provide to make this training more accessible to you, please let us know.

If this course becomes oversubscribed priority will be given to professionals working in the East of England.

If you have any questions about this training, please contact us on 01223 349401 or enquiries.casee@nhs.net.
