Archery Permit Course
Get ready to hit the bullseye and learn all the tricks to nail your archery permit in a fun and practical session.
A two day practical training course is designed for Scout Leaders and Explorer Scouts who wish to gain their Scout Archery Permit. The course will cover the required technical knowledge, safety standards, and hands‑on coaching skills needed to run archery sessions safely within Scouting.
By the end of the course, participants will complete the necessary assessments to progress toward obtaining their Archery Permit.
Who Can Attend
- Team Leaders and Team Members
- Explorer Scouts (usually age 14+ depending on local policy)
What’s Included
- Full instruction from qualified instructors
- Range safety briefing and setup
- Practical coaching and supervised shooting
- All equipment provided
What Participants Need
- Suitable outdoor clothing
- Closed‑toe footwear
- Long hair tied back
- Packed lunch
- Notebook and pen / pencil

Both days run 09:00 to 16:30. Arrival and registration from 08:30.
Additional Notes
Participants will be contacted ahead of the event with final details.
Completion of the course does not automatically guarantee a permit; a practical assessment will be required after the course, to be arranged with an assessor of the participants choice.
This is a two day course, not overnight accomodation provided.
