[DWAN] Digital Women’s Archive North and Delia Derbyshire Day have teamed up to deliver a pre-DD Day 2016 event on 14 January at HOME, titled Archiving Women’s Performance Practice.

The event will explore the (in)visibility of women’s practice in history and contemporary contexts, considering how mechanisms and content of the “archive” can be unravelled and re-presented. We would like to look at what archiving means to different people, the importance and value of archives, and the many ways we can capture narrative and outcomes.

Archiving Women’s Performance Practice will be a networking event with short presentations, performances, workshop activities, and a space for informal discussion and refreshments.

Delia Derbyshire Day is a Manchester-based organisation which pays homage to the late great Delia Derbyshire (1937-2001) – a pioneer of electronic music in England in the 1960’s. DD Day is an almost annual event in Manchester with national touring events and an on-going education programme.
