ARM Optimised Mobile Rendering Techniques Workshop

VRTGO Labs is partnering with ARM to deliver a FREE <A HREF="https://armworkshop.eventbrite.co.uk/" TARGET="_blank">workshop</A> for Games and VR developers, interested in furthering their knowledge in optimized mobile rendering techniques.
Hosted by VRTGO Labs and held at Gateshead College, the workshop will be delivered by ARM over 4 hours with tuition and hands-on sessions.
There are only 60 places available and we expect places to go quickly.
Workshop Title: Optimized Mobile Rendering Techniques Based on Local Cubemaps (LC)
Note: This is based on developing using Unity only.
This workshop is based on the research Roberto Lopez Mendez and Sylwester Bala presented at SIGGRAPH 2016.
This workshop introduces a new generalized concept of LC and several rendering techniques based on it: reflections, shadows and refractions. Rendering techniques based on LC are important for mobile graphics as they are faster, more efficient and provide better quality than more classical rendering techniques. The limitations of rendering techniques based on LC, and how to address them, will be discussed.
During the practical exercise a complete Unity project, “Dynamic Soft Shadows Based on Local Cubemaps”, will be provided.  Main project elements and shader implementation of the new shadow rendering technique based on LC will also be discussed.
ARM will provide android tablets for the practical session and a number of VR headsets.

·        Mobile Game developers
·        Graphics programmer
·        Performance analyst for mobile platforms
Pre-requisites:
·        Experience using Unity engine
Pre-workshop Actions:
The workshop is based on Unity, you will be sent a set-up guide to ensure you have your environment set up correctly on your laptop, as well as download the ARM project from the Unity Asset Store. ARM is going to provide Android tablets for the workshop. 
Once you have registered, links to the above actions will be sent to you.
It is important that you follow the above pre-workshop actions prior to attending, as there will be no ability to download at the venue.
You must bring your own laptop and ensure it is fully charged. There will be access to charging areas at break times if needed.
