Goldsmiths anthropologist, Audrey Allwood, invites people of all backgrounds to tell their stories of arrival in London through objects or images.
Celebrate and explore an important period in British social and cultural life by bringing along an item that is helps you tell your story of arrival in London, whether you came from elsewhere in the UK, Europe or further afield.
Audrey’s research focuses on elderly people who migrated from the Caribbean to London in the ‘Windrush’ era. As the recent scandal has led many to question their sense of place and belonging in London, Audrey explores the positive impact and legacy of Caribbean culture on London life.
