Art Social: Secret Language of Flowers
Join us as we delve deeper into the themes of our exhibition Plant Dreaming and work with artist Kate Genever
Art Socials are informal, sociable sessions for teachers and art educators of all kinds run by Leeds Art Gallery and Henry Moore Institute. We aim to provide a space for teachers and educators to be creative, collaborative and experimental, and gain inspiration to take back into their teaching setting.
Starting with a tour of Plant Dreaming, our exhibition featuring large-scale textiles, ceramics, drawings, photography and film by seven artists who encourage us to think about different types of plant knowledge and how they relate to ecopolitics and the self.
Using a range of materials and a still life, work alongside artist Kate Genever to discover what we know about plants, valuing ‘different forms of knowing’ and the importance of plants in our contemporary lives.
