Art workshop - Painting the wildlife of the North West Highlands
Resident artist, Carey Jones, will guide you through the process of creating a painting of one of our iconic wildlife species.
Working with acrylic paints, artist Carey Jones from Fanagmore Studio, will help you create a painting of one of our iconic wildlife species. This workshop is open to all abilities, so if you haven’t picked up a paintbrush since school, would like to try painting or are looking to practice and hone your skills, this is for you.
A bit more about Carey:
“My name is Carey Jones and I am an artist living on a croft in Fanagmore. My favourite subjects are animals, nature and seascapes and I have painted in acrylics for many years now. Living in Sutherland has been a long held dream of mine and our magnificent landscape and wildlife is such an inspiration - the same view changing by the day with the seasons, weather and amazing light we are lucky enough to enjoy in this wonderful part of the world”.
There will be two sessions, from 10am to 12.30pm and then from 1.30pm to 4pm. You are welcome to come along to one or both, please indicate during the booking process whether you will be arriving at 10am or 1.30pm. Both sessions are open to all, free to attend but places are limited, so please book your place. All materials are included. Complimentary refreshments and light lunch will be provided. If you would like to stay for lunch please select this during booking and indicate any dietary requirements.
This workshop is one of a series being delivered across the North West Highlands Geopark and its Gateway areas. They are part of the Artist in Residence Project from the Access, Connect and Take Part Programme, working with artists resident in the area to engage communities with the North West Highlands landscape, natural and cultural heritage through the creative process.
