About this event

  • Event lasts 3 hours

Under the careful guidance of Louise, you will be creating artful embroidery on beautifully hand dyed fabrics created exclusively in her studio.

Using a combination of slow stitch and embroidery sampler stitching styles. You'll begin the workshop by learning a selection of hand embroidery stitches that make up the back bone of all other embroidery stitches - both how to embroider these traditionally and then altering them to make new and interesting effects. You'll embroider away with new stitches being taught as needed.

By the end of the workshop you will have learnt a range of beautiful hand embroidery stitches and be taking away a unique piece of embroidered artwork.

Please note - this workshop is suitable for beginners but they must be 18+

If you would like to attend Artful Embroidery in the morning and then Text in Textiles in the afternoon (2.30pm - 5.30pm), select option for both when purchasing your ticket at the discounted rate of £45.

If you have any access, mobility or other health issues which you think could impact your experience of the workshop, do to let us know in advance and we will aim to make reasonable adjustments where possible, to ensure you have a positive experience.

We request resonable notice of at least 2 working days to be able to action any adjustments.

Any information disclosed to Swarthmore will be relayed to the workshop facilitator.
