A practical online workshop for early-career artists interested in making work that engages with autobiography. The workshop will be led by Phosphoros Theatre’s creative team and will introduce artistic techniques and examples from their work, which stages refugee narratives, with time for discussion about practical, ethical and methodological decision making.This workshop will mainly be led by the Artistic Directors of the company who have backgrounds across disciplines including writing for TV, teaching, applied theatre, youth work, refugee care and research.This workshop is for artists aged 18+ABOUT PHOSPHOROS THEATREPhosphoros Theatre is a London based company that makes radical performance starring refugee and asylum-seeking actors. They use autobiographical performance to shine a light on important untold stories. Their work is collaborative, stripped back and rooted in a desire to offer alternative perspectives.Phosphoros Theatre were due to tour their 4th production All the beds I have slept in in June 2020, their 3rd production Pizza Shop Heroes went on a national tour in 2019 recieving critical acclaim and high audience numbers. They are The Unicorn Theatre’s Associate Company for 2019/20, with Phosphoros Young Company for 14-18 year olds who came to the UK as unaccompanied minors. They are officially recognised as a Theatre Company of Sanctuary by City of Sanctuary.
