About this event

  • 1 hour 30 minutes

Join us at OLLIE's community garden for an imaginative summer morning filled with fresh air and artistic expression in this workshop focused on painting Frida Kahlo-inspired plant pots, led by local artist Anna!

This workshop is suitable for beginners as well as those with prior experience.

Anna will expertly guide you through each step to create a unique Frida design on your plant pot and a wooden canvas that will sit in the pot. There will be a range of designs to draw inspiration from such as Frida self-portraits, Frida's paintings and the choice to change the Freida portrait to one of a loved one.

Drawing from her expertise in all things Frida, she will discuss Frida's colourful life story along with her connection to mindfulness and aim to unify everything through love and art.

After painting, there will be soil and a selection of seeds for you to plant , promising a beautiful creation perfect for your home, garden, or as a thoughtful gift.

Who is Frida Kahlo?
Frida Kahlo is most identified by her colourful self portraits and equally bright clothes. She typically wore the traditional Tehuana dress that became her trademark which consisted of a flowered headdress, a loose blouse, gold jewelry, and a long ruffled skirt.

So give a pot the unique look of Frida Kahlo and have some creative gardening fun at the same time!
