About this event

Arty Bods is an exciting set of Wednesday morning art workshops designed for kids aged 5-11 years old.

Each workshop will be led by artist Lauren Saunders and guest facilitators Michelle Davy and Faith Foster. Together as a group, your child will get to grips with a range of art materials and techniques with a focus on paper crafts with paper kindly provided by the GF Smith Charitable Trust.

Expect lots of fun, colour and mess (and no cleaning up)!

Young artists must be accompanied by an adult, who can relax during sessions with coffee and cake from our café bar.

Activity Schedule:

Week 1

Paper Costumes! Join us for a fun and creative kids' workshop where we'll design and build imaginative costumes out of paper—think robots, monsters, animals, and anything else your imagination can dream up!

Week 2

Get arty with environmental artist Michele Davy, who has a passion for community arts and wildlife.

Week 3

Unleash your imagination in our magical workshop where we'll craft mythical creature paper puppets - dragons, unicorns, mermaids and more - using colourful paper, paper chains, and plenty of creativity!

Week 4

It's time to be creative with Arty Bods facilitator Faith Foster, who works across craft, drawing and sculpture.

Week 5

Back by popular request, we'll explore the joy of printmaking in this creative workshop where we’ll make monoprints and cyanotypes using handmade stencils - weather permitting, we'll once again harness the power of the sun to create beautiful blue photographic prints!

Week 6

Step into a world of storytelling and design as we create mini paper-based theatres - complete with tiny stages and characters for your own fantastical performances!
