Join us for Åsa Johannesson’s Open Studio in De Beauvoir Town, Saturday 17 May 12-7pm. Work-in-progress will be on display, photographs will be for sale (large and small) + we will serve drinks in the garden.
2025 marks 10 years of production of portraits for the body of work The Queering of Photography - a project that celebrates the London LGBTQ+ community through different photographic expressions (black & white studio portraiture, Polaroid necks, emulsion sculpture, Roman statue portraits, prose poetry). New photographs + works from Åsa's archive will be presented together with research materials. Åsa's book Queer Methodology for Photography (Routledge 2024) will also be for sale.
