Assessing Who is Causing Harm in the context of Domestic Abuse

If you are interested in delving deeper into the complexities of domestic abuse, this event is for you! Join us for an insightful training session on identifying the perpetrators of harm in domestic abuse situations, particulary where there are counter allegations and their behaviour is rooted within Coersive Control.

This course is designed for people who work directly with Individuals and families being affected by domestic abuse including those who are using abusive behaviours. We recommend first completing our Level 2 DASV and DASH training courses for those that have little to no prior training in this subject matter. This course explores Coercive Control and The Typologies of Domestic Abuse to support good assessments of who is at risk especially when dealing with counter allegations. The course also touches on practice tools to use when working with people using abusive behaviours.

This whole day (10am – 3:30pm) course aims to:

• Increase understanding of Gender Based Violence

• Develop understanding of Coercive Control

• Develop knowledge on how to assess risk/harm in the context of Domestic Abuse including counter allegations

• Increase confidence in practicing personal and professional boundaries

At the foundation of all DASV training is an understanding and awareness of controlling and coercive behaviour in an intimate or family relationship.

This training is only available free to individuals who work and/or reside in Cornwall & Isles of Scilly, United Kingdom.
