Event description

Description

An opportunity to be one of the first to see inside this totally renovated, reequipped and redesigned middle scale touring and university venue which closed in 2007 (as the Gardner Arts Centre).

The Sir Basil Spence designed grade 2* listed building has many challenges and characterful features. The 333-400+ capacity theatre has a new flexible format, comprehensive lighting, acoustic treatment, 16 bars over the stage, high spec PA, projection/screens, get in lift and adjacent studio spaces.

The ALD professional member Paul Davies, who has led the systems specification/design/coordination and fit out for the university over the last 9 months, will meet us in the lobby at 2pm. There is the students union bar opposite to retire to afterwards for a pint and chat.

The event is open to members of the ALD, ABTT and ASD, and numbers are limited, so please register below as soon as possible.

ACCA is 5 minutes’ walk from Falmer Station which an hour and 20 minutes from London via Lewes or Brighton. It can also be easily reached by car from the A27, park in the Sports Centre car park opposite (post code BN1 9RA).
