Thursday the 2nd of July, Friday the 3rd of July

and

Thursday the 9th of July, Friday the 10th of July

Children under the age of 12 need to be accompanied by a parent/guardian

The camp will be available on Campus in ATU Letterkenny, you need to register to attend the camp.

The camp will incorporate the following workshops:

Thursday the 2nd of July - Mobile App Development

Day 1 introduces students to the idea of “vibe programming” with AI—focusing on creativity first and letting the tools help bring ideas to life. They’ll explore beginner-friendly AI coding tools, try simple prompts, and see how changing instructions can affect the output. By the end of the day, they’ll have created a few small projects, like a basic animation or simple interactive program, while building confidence in experimenting without worrying about getting everything perfect.

Friday the 3rd of July - Coding with Swift playgrounds

Day 2 shifts into creating a more complete project. Students choose a direction—such as a mini game, quiz, or interactive story—and begin building it step by step. They’ll use AI to generate code, test ideas quickly, and learn how to guide the AI with clearer prompts. Along the way, they’ll start thinking more about structure, user experience, and how different parts of their project connect.

Thursday the 9th of July - Vibe Programming with AI

Day 3 is all about improving and expanding. Students revisit their projects to add new features, fix bugs, and personalise the design. They’ll experiment with visuals, sounds, and different interactions, while also learning how to debug with AI support. This day encourages deeper thinking, as they refine their ideas and make their projects more engaging and polished.

Friday the 10th of July - Coding with BBC Micro:Bits

Day 4 focuses on finishing touches and sharing. Students tidy up their projects, make final improvements, and prepare a short demo or presentation. They’ll showcase what they’ve built, explain their ideas, and reflect on how they used AI throughout the process. The camp wraps up with a sense of achievement, giving them both a finished project and a new perspective on coding as a creative, collaborative experience.
