Led by Sarah Emmott and Rachel Moorhouse, Art with Heart are an award-winning Salford based company who design and deliver performances, workshops and people-led creative projects for community groups, arts organisations and schools across the UK.We believe in the power of theatre and art to change lives for the better, and our mission is pretty simple – to make it accessible, representative and get people to give it try. Art with Heart

More than getting bums on seats, audience development creates a community for your work.

This workshop is run by our Co-Creative Director, Rachel Moorhouse, who has over a decade of experience in marketing and audience development. Working with independent artists, festivals and leading cultural organisations, Rachel has connected audiences to a variety cultural experiences from theatre to music, cabaret to comedy, live art to spoken word. Rachel was the Audience Development Officer at Contact Theatre, Manchester and leads Art with Heart’s audience development from strategy to grassroots connections.This workshop will cover: • Identifying your target audiences and objectives• Strategic planning and prioritisation• Budgeting for Audience Development• Building meaningful and lasting connections with audiences• How to identify and secure group bookings• Top tips and examples of best practice“Rachel has the most excellent approach that comes from a place of deep integrity and authenticity. Thanks for your time, wisdom, and - as always - heart.” – ParticipantWho is it for?Artists, producers or students who want to build an audience for their work and ensure their tours and events are well attended.How will it run?This will be run on Zoom. There will be no pressure to have your camera on in the session. After the panel, we'll leave the Zoom open for another half an hour so that you can have space to reflect on your own practice should you choose to do so. How much does it cost?We understand that money is tight at the moment as so we're asking for a pay what you can contribution of £5+ based on the following system:Low-income: £1 Standard contribution: £5In work and can afford it: £10You can do this during checkout, all funds raised go back into us making more events like this one. <h2>ABOUT RACHEL MOORHOUSE</h2>Rachel is a theatre maker, director, producer and facilitator committed to making the arts more accessible, inclusive and representative for audiences, artists and participants. Before joining us at Art with Heart, Rachel worked with a number of leading cultural organisations including South Bank Centre, Royal Exchange Theatre, Manchester International Festival, Contact and HOME. She started her career at Contact Theatre, and was later a recipient of the ‘Edinburgh Festival Fringe Producers Bursary Programme’. She co-produced alternative cabaret night Pen:Chant with Ben Mellor and co-founded Lost &amp; Found, a pop-up performance festival in Manchester co-produced with Contact.
