LU Arts is Loughborough University's arts programme, offering students, staff and the wider community opportunities to get creative and get involved in the arts.Over the academic year LU Arts presents a mixed events programme of live performances, hands-on workshops, exhibitions, creative evening classes, talks and short courses as well asRadar, its contemporary art programme, where artists respond to research undertaken at Loughborough University.

*THIS WORKSHOP IS PART OF 'CRAFTING IDENTITY' - OUR LGBT+ HISTORY MONTH MAKERSPACELight and Textiles WorkshopWorking with textiles and LED lights we will learn how to embed light into a textile material. Participants will use light and embroidery to express messages, statements around their personal identity. At the end there will be a patchwork with all the samples that can be used as a conversational piece about queer issues.Ricardo O'Nascimento investigates body-environment relations focused on interface development for worn devices. O'Nascimento is interested in a multidisciplinary approach to create new means of communication and experiences that challenge and challenge human perception. Currently, he is a Ph.D. candidate at Loughborough University (UK), where he investigates the uses of electronic textiles in haptic interfaces.No prior experience necessaryCapacity : 10Age Limit : 16+
