Are you a business author?
Are you thinking about writing a book or have you already started?
Would you like to be inspired by like-minded authors and book experts?
The Author's Journey networking events are a unique space for authors to support and inspire each other.
Run by Karen Williams and Sheryl Andrews, we want to create a space where you can be real and honest about the ups and downs of writing a business book, and talk to experts and experienced authors about how they have overcome similar challenges.
With a mixture of speakers, book writing, publishing and marketing advice, this informal event is the perfect opportunity to share what works and what doesn’t - and why.
Every author goes on a journey from dreaming, to planning, structuring, actually writing, marketing and selling. No one person is good at all of these stages, so it's our hope and aspiration that we can create a community who can tap into each other's skills and resources. If you've already published your book, do get in touch, as we'd love to help you to promote them at the event.
Here's the agenda for the evening:
6.30pm Networking, arrivals and refreshments
7.30pm Author's Journey Spotlight - where our two guest authors, Gavin Meikle and Sophie Personne share their journeys
8.15pm Author's Journey Support section to get support with your book
8.45pm Guest speaker slot with Esther Harris and Helen McCusker from Bookollective will be talking all things digital. "An author website, a blog tour, book trailer, Twitter, Facebook… Do you have digital brain freeze?! Bookollective is a new collective of literary experts made up of an editor, designer and publicist. We will explain the different elements, which are important (and some not so important) to authors, what the benefits are, and how to action them."
9.10pm Feedback & future events
9.30pm Meeting closes
We hope you can join us.
