AuthorTalks Series

Parkside YardsSouthall, England
Saturday, Feb 7 from 3 pm to 5 pm GMT
Overview

This series is an exciting opportunity for you to hear from a range of authors and for us to showcase talented writers, new and established!

The Sher Jung Foundation are excited to announce the continuation of our AuthorTalks series, where we will be speaking with the acclaimed SUNJEEV SAHOTA!

Sunjeev Sahota is an award-winning British novelist whose powerful, compassionate storytelling explores migration, identity, and the search for belonging. Born in 1981 in Derbyshire, he studied mathematics before turning to writing, publishing his acclaimed debut Ours Are the Streets in 2011. His breakthrough novel, The Year of the Runaways, was shortlisted for the Booker Prize and firmly established him as one of the most important literary voices of his generation. His third novel, China Room, also received widespread praise.

His newest book, The Spoiled Heart, marks his first novel set entirely in Britain — in his hometown of Chesterfield — and centres on a union leadership contest that becomes a gripping, emotionally charged story of love, class and identity. The novel blends a family mystery with contemporary politics to examine how race, class and loyalty shape community. Alongside his writing, Sahota lectures in Creative Writing at Durham University, where he mentors and inspires the next generation of storytellers.

We're delighed to announce that all 4 of Sahota's books will be available for purchase and signing at our event.

The ticket price also includes a welcome drink and a snack box made by the award-winning chef Dipna Anand!
