BAA Lecture Series 2025: Demonstrations / STIR with Resolve Collective
Overview
Nina Jang and Lauren-Loïs Duah of Resolve Collective join us for the third talk in the BA Architecture Lecture Series: Demonstrations / STIR.
Nina Jang is an interdisciplinary spatial designer, researcher and educator. Informed by liminal spaces of cultural practice, they use materials and process-led creative production of convening, generative systems of knowledge exchange and speculative building of archives.
Musings include the forthcoming publication of Messages from Isolation — a multimedia platform that explores writing, film and art — as well as cinema curation; design workshops; experiential sonic experiences.
Nina is part of RESOLVE Collective and Eastern Margins. Nina has also taught at UAL, Creative Industries: London module.
They also support the ongoing Save Soanes campaign to secure a long-term lease of the youth education Soanes Centre in Tower Hamlets.
Lauren-Loïs Duah is a cross-disciplinary artist & designer, whose work focuses on the ways in which creativity, craft, and design can be used as a dynamic liberatory tool to build positive community practices. Her creative practice is rooted in diasporic storytelling and connecting to 'home' through a Pan-African lens utilising traditional craft techniques, different scales of design, and place-based making.
Lauren-Loïs has been a research fellow at RAW Académie in Senegal, and GYAÀN Ecosystem in London, exploring how ancestral knowledge embedded in traditional textile-making practices from the West African continent can archive and tell the story of a place and its peoples across time and borders. Past creative workshop series include the Architectural Association, the V&A, and the Institute of International Visual Arts.
