Baby Steps
We’re a friendly group for parents-to-be where you’ll learn parenting tips and meet people who’ll support you on your journey.
Expecting a baby can bring up lots of different feelings, and parenting can sometimes take a bit of practice. To help you feel more confident about being a new parent, Baby Steps is here. You’ve got this, and we’re here to support you.
We’re a free, friendly group for parents-to-be, where you’ll learn parenting tips you can use every day and meet people who’ll support you in your parenting journey.
Baby Steps runs for nine sessions, which take place in groups in person. Your group will be made up of parents whose babies will be born at similar times (March/April), so you can be supported by people who’ll understand what you might be experiencing.
We don’t just look at pregnancy, labour and birth. Each group will adapt to meet your needs as a new parent, as well as talking about:
• Your baby’s development.
• What could change for you and the people around you.
• Giving birth and getting to know your baby.
• Caring for your baby and yourself.
• People and places that can support you.
You’ll also look at lots of other topics, hear from other new parents, and receive 1-2- 1 support that will help you feel better prepared for meeting your new baby.
This group is not just for first time parents as each pregnancy is unique. You can attend with a support person or partner. This is a 9 week programme (6 session before baby is born and 3 after). You will also get a home visit before session start and once baby has arrived.
